The Chefs Studio – Opening Soon!

The Chefs Studio offers a unique fun and interactive culinary experience in a studio kitchen setting. Located in the heart of Cape Town, The Chefs Studio offers unique cooking classes for adults, Pop Up dinners, Private Culinary and Corporate Events. Our class schedules are posted on the first of each month for the following month, all bookings and payments are done on line. We sell tickets for our pop up dinners which are also offered for sale on the first of each month. The studio is equipped with state of the art facilities and is decorated with quirky artful foodie memorabilia, everything is designed to create a small intimate setting and make each visit memorable and ever lasting. Our market offers cookbooks, speciality equipment pieces as well as some selected speciality food items.

Our Chef and Co. founder, Conrad Gallagher is on hand with a full Cooking Series part 1 and part 2 as well and bespoke classes throughout the year. We also invite monthly guest chefs to hold unique classes which we advertise through our mailing list, Facebook page and twitter.

Series one

1. Italian Kitchen R 650

Learn how to make homemade Ravioli, Spaghetti, Tortelini, cook the perfect dried pasta, risottos, gnocchi and all the classic sauces – Meatballs, Bolognese, Alfredo , Putenesca, Pomodora, each italian class we feature a region and some of its signature dishes.

2. Classic French Kitchen R 750

Learning classic French cooking is the gateway to mastering your skills, this class focuses on dishes like Cassoulet, Cordon bleu, coq au vin, pot au feu. Steak au poivre, Steak Tartar, Pate and terrines, beef bourguignon. Also, we feature certain regions of France and cook dishes from that region.

3. Seafood Kitchen R 950

Learn the best way to buy and prepare fish and shellfish. Learn about sustainable seafood, how to cook salmon, scallops, shrimp, lobster, kingklip. Work with clams, oyster and lobster and sauces that suit fish and the many garnishes that work best.
4. Gourmet Chef R 950

Learn how to make some of Conrad’s signature dishes. The class is more for the advanced cook who wants to go to the next level of perhaps cooking a dish with 3 to 5 different elements, typically a Mediterranean style and depending on the time of year and the season, we use a little game, high quality aged meats and local seafood.

5. Canapés, Tapas R 750

A great way to entertain is small dishes, tapas, Canapés, finger foods. This class takes you on a great journey through Spain and Europe, picking dishes that are best served in small portions. Devilled eggs, seared foie gras, salmon rillette, Tuna Tartare, this class typically does 5 dishes per class with a great variety.

6. Breakfast, Brunch R550

One of Conrad’s Favourite classes is Brunch. This is a fast paced class with classic dishes like Wild Boar Hash, Eggs Benedict with Chorizo, Parma Ham or Smoked Salmon, Blueberry Pancakes, French Toast, the perfect Steak and Egg. Make the perfect egg: poached, fried, scrambled, boiled.
